List all the integer values of p which satisfy both the inequalities p + 4 < 11 and  2 - 3p ≤ -7.

Solution

(i)     p + 4 <11

                    p < 11 - 4

                           p < 7              

===> 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, -1, -2,............

(ii)    2 - 3p ≤ -7.

              - 3p ≤ -7 -2

           - 3p ≤ - 9

                       p ≥  - 9 / -3

              p ≥  3

===> 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, .....................
